April 26th, 2008: Societies Awards – This year, the SU’s Societies Awards were special affair and who are we to turn down the chance to get dressed up? We were shortlisted in one category for our Horcrux Hunt pub crawl.
April 14th, 2008: Pub Crawl – Another opportunity to dress up as Harry Potter characters. Though there seemed to be an awful lot of Death Eaters…
February 23rd, 2008: Movie Marathon – One very long Saturday in February we decided to watch all five Harry Potter films. Did we manage it? Of course we did!
February 5th, 2008: Pancake Day – Shrove Tuesday came early this year, so we tucked into stacks of pancakes that we made ourselves before settling down to a game of Scene It?.

After 2006’s Yule Ball madness, we decided to do it all over again. This time, a different location but still with the same festive spirit and crazy hippogryff dancing.
In the wood-panelled room at Cardiff’s Royal Hotel, guests were treated to a cocktail reception, three-course Christmas meal and even a chocolate fountain for that extra bit of Christmas decadence.
We were once again joined by several other societies from the university, as well as several members of ULU’s Harry Potter society, The Unspeakables.
November 13th, 2007: Horcrux Hunt – A pub crawl with a difference! Team Glumbumble battled against Team Jobberknoll in a series of tasks that took the teams all around Cathays. In the end, though, it was Team Jobberknoll which was victorious.
October 30th, 2007: Harry Halloween – For Halloween this year we gathered in fancy dress at the Woodville and caused a commotion with games such as the ‘Cake or Death Quiz’ and ‘Bellatrix and Trelawney Say’. The prize for best costume went to Lewis Kenealy who put on an impressive show as everyone’s favourite groundskeeper, Rubeus Hagrid.
October 2nd, 2007: Freshers’ Fling – Our first social of the year, with quizzes, games and… costume making? We started the year in style with a lot of games for some house-bonding exercises followed by a few drinks at Central Bar.
September 27th, 2007: Freshers’ Fayre – Come one, come all, to the Freshers’ Fayre! It was lovely to meet everyone who joined up!
